Ginger comes from the rhizome of the plant and takes 1-1.5 years to grow into a suitable size to harvest. The intense spicy flavor is laced with a lemony twist that makes it ideal for cooking, baking and for beverages. Used in many drinks from sodas, to beers and liqueurs, it is most excellent in many desserts and sweets as well. Cooked ginger comes in all manners from meat dishes, to soups to curries. "3 cups" style is one of our favorite uses of ginger.
